Privacy questions

Wondering how your data is handled? See our Privacy Policy — the short version is: it stays on your device.

Frequently asked questions

The things people ask us most often.

Will Mio delete my photos without asking?

No. Swiping a photo only marks it — nothing is removed at that moment. At the end of a sorting session you see everything you marked and confirm the whole batch in one step, so a stray swipe costs you nothing. After you confirm, the photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for 30 days before they're gone for good.

Why does Mio need access to my whole photo library?

To find duplicates it has to be able to compare photos against each other, and to file a photo into an album it has to be able to write to your library. Neither works on a hand-picked selection. That access is used entirely on your iPhone — the app doesn't upload your photos, copy them, or send anything about them to us.

Does Mio Software read my text messages?

No. Our planned Spam Blocker will use Apple's Message Filter system, which only ever looks at messages from unknown senders (people not in your Contacts), and it does that work on your device. Messages from your contacts and your iMessages are never seen by the app, and no message content is ever sent to us.

Do I need to create an account?

No account, no sign-up, and no personal details required. You download the app and it just works. Because everything runs on your device, there's nothing for you to log into.

Is my data sent to your servers?

No. Mio Software apps are designed to run entirely on your iPhone. We don't collect, sell, or transmit your personal content. The most an app keeps is a small history (like a log of what was filtered) stored locally on your device.

How much will the apps cost?

Our apps use a subscription so we can keep them updated over time (for example, refreshing spam lists and adding features). Exact pricing will be shown in the app before you ever pay anything, and all billing is handled securely by Apple.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose the app, and tap Cancel. You'll keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Which devices are supported?

Mio Software builds for iPhone. The specific iOS version each app needs will be listed on its App Store page when it launches.

When will the apps be available?

We're in active development, with our first app — Mio: Photo Cleaner — targeting a mid-September 2026 launch. The other apps follow after that. Check the Apps page for the latest status.
